Label hopping duo Mock and Toof have already kicked off the new year with a bang, proudly representing two unbelievable 12-inches around their belts; Beat Up on Tiny Sticks and Big Hands for a Lady as the first release on their own mutant creation M&T Inc.
I also can't stop listening to their remix of Ladyhawke's Back of the Van, which was included on the EP, so track that down too it's definately worth a listen.

I remember about a year and a half ago i used to listen to this album on the way to work pretty much every shift, the amazing thing being that if i hit the play button at the precise moment i locked my front door the album would finish at some point while going up the second set of esculators just outside of my work.
With the Smiths' Queen is Dead being the latest addition to the Classic Albums series, and the DVD clocking in at around about 180 minutes i'm probably going to have to scope out a couple of detours on the way to work just to keep up to standard. Included in the feature are both studio and live recordings of all the songs on the album and interviews with the band, Tony Wilson and Stephen Street (the album Engineer).
The street date is set for June 10 (according to Amazon.com) roughly 22 years after the album's original release date, so get camping.

"To deliver this, SPOD decided to get classique and do what the Beatles and T Rex did and drop wax! Damn, the plates were even pressed at Abbey Road, possibly by John Lennon himself. Thanks John!"

Brookyln synth feens, Holy Ghost, have thankfully dropped a second remix, this one being of an artist by the name of 'Only Fools and Horses', who i have had no prior exposure to or currently have any information on, but i'm assuming are from the UK, or at least fans of UK comedy. Upon listening to the A-side i'd strongly recommend keeping an eye out for name because it's a pretty banging track.
I also heard that Holy Ghost are working on a second 12", which i hope is accurate as i promised i'd go on a listening hiatus from 'Hold On' when the play count hit a million and it's been sitting in the red zone for a while now.

I can't get enough of Aeroplane, and their new single is no exception, with disco honey Kathy Diamond giving it her 70's touch.
The A-side sounds sort of like a much groovier and shorter version of a Delia and Gavin track, whereas on the B-side Andy Butler (Hercules and Love Affair) drives you to the terminal, checks you in and flies to you a mysterious place you've only ever dreamt of.
Watch out for their debut album due late this year i think.

Bare with us it won't be too much longer. Thanks ^_^

I heard this song a couple of weeks ago and I can't get it out of my head. It's You Want The Candy by The Raveonettes. They're a Danish duo that play 50s & 60s style vintage pop. I think their sound openly reflects their influences such as The Smiths, The Everly Brothers, Elvis Presley and The Clash.
They say the name Raveonettes is a direct reference to their inspirations, The Ronettes and Buddy Holly Rave On. I like it when bands do that.
